Two crocuses have bloomed. They are a magnificent shade of purple. Each day brings a new surprise in the garden.

The sleeper has been fixed, which is great. It needs to be stained in order for it to blend in with the others, currently it looks more out of place than a group of six at the park. We shall add that to the list of jobs. There was a human sized gap, between the soil and the sleeper so I turned the soil to fill in the gap. Some of the soil was VERY chalky so I tried to push as much chalk to the Bottom as possible and we have added loads more lovely fresh soil on top. It now looks like a very enticing bed, and I think plants will be very happy in it. We have also added some shingle to the lower level, this area looks like it gets good sun throughout the day and sitting at that level provides a beautiful view. The shingle makes it a more versatile space.

We have done some purchasing. Finally the Wisley's have been ordered and are due to come mid March. And Coreopsis 'Sterntaler' has been planted into the new bed the beautiful yellow flowers will be a treat this summer and should be in bloom from May to September. Providing many months of enjoyment. In the bed there is also, previously owned, Smoke Bush, Hellebore 'Christmas Carol' and Rhodanthemum 'Casablanca'. Rosmary, Basil and Sage also to add some lovely scents. There is plenty of space to add some more plants which means more shopping. Yay.
The small Buxus has gone in the large blue pot, in the hope it will grow as large as its competition on the other side of the garden. Temporarily it will need some small bedding plants to surround it, in order to to stop it looking so swamped by the big pot.
Many pots have been ousted from the garden, it was feeling a little cluttered and by removing a few pots it looks cleaner and bigger. I love how each time we work in the garden the improvement feels vast and the ever-growing excitement makes it difficult to stop.
We've managed to pick up a second-hand bistro set and a log burner (bargains). Summer BBQ's with friends are something we are all craving, so we want to be prepared. Sun, shades, friends, booze and scran, there isn't a more exciting combo. In the meantime I am loving the process and enjoying the excitement of the future.
For now I will leave you with one of my favourite quotes.
'Every child is born a naturalist. His eyes are by nature, open to the glories of the stars, the beauty of the flowers, and the mystery of life' - R. Search.
